The host motel is the Guest House Motel located in Amana, IA.
I have reserved 15 rooms at the Guest House and 15 rooms at Motel 6, nine miles south of Amana, and they will be held until 30 days before the rally.
More rooms might be available at the Guest House and Motel 6 if we register early enough. Most motels in the area fill up early and charge over $100 per night.
Please mention the smart car rally when registering.

The Amana Colonies RV Park and Event Center (click RV link above) has tent camping sites available as well as sites for RV's and regular campers. Some of the tents sites have electricity available.

It is at Amana, IA so you'd be close to those staying in Amana. Jim and I will probably stay here (hey it's still 5 months away)and use a dry/tent site.

The rates are reasonable

Nightly $34 full hook-up
$31 water & electric
$20 dry/tent camping
Electric is available as an option for dry/tent campers per the website.

Kent Park also looks good - it is about 12.6 miles from Amana. Has both electric and non-electric campsites. Also has a beach and fishing in the lake. No reservations are required, this is a first come first serve camping area.

Fees: $15 for electric
$12 for non-electric

I think the picnic will be here at Kent Park if I understand the event plans correctly.

The Guest House Motel is now full. Some rooms may be available after May 8th if not taken by the wedding party. Check the list in the first post for more options.

Any one else planning to bring a camper, RV, or planning to tent camp? If so where are you planning to stay. We are planning to bring our TimeOut camper and it would be fun to camp near other smarties there for the rally.

Where is everyone not booked at the Guest House staying?

Our plans are to camp but in case we change our minds and decide on a hotel I'd like to know.

Motel 6 still has 14 reserved rooms available. See rates in the first post.
Clarion has rooms available for $99.95 per night.
The Heritage Inn is not recommended (bad reviews).

Neon won't give his campground location. :crying: Something about a party and a blanket.

As of today, May 8th, the Guest House Motel has 5 double-bed rooms available that were not taken by the wedding party.
Motel 6 has released the remaining reserved rooms.
Book your rooms now. You snooze, you lose (or bring your blanket and party with Neon).
