Well, the smart 453 may have made the 'cars to avoid' list but I still like mine so very much. I've had the opportunity to drive a 2017 Subaru Outback with cognac leather seats, every bell and whistle you can imagine in a car and I still prefer to drive my manual 453. The Subaru Outback is so boring to drive. It slows down for you if you approach a car while on cruise control. It beeps if you stray over the line, it warns you if someone is in your blind spot etc..etc...etc... but I'll take my smart every time for the fun ride it provides.

Another click-driven, useless opinion piece. The sad thing is that I bet some people actually make buying decisions based on these things.

Then again, maybe I'm not normal, after all I want to have a warehouse full of smarts when I'm old. :D

It's all about practicality. Can a smart car hold 5 passengers. Can you load it up with 2x4, 20 bags of mulch. From Homedepot. The Outback, has a great resale value. Extremely safe vehicle. The Subaru, can haul your kiddies to work. The 2 vehicles have nothing in common with each other. There are 3 Outbacks on my block. A family all wheel drive small wagon. A great alternative to a SUV/crossover.

You buy a smart car. If your single. Kids have all left the nest. A second vehicle to commute to work. (Why I bought mine). Makes a great, go to college vehicle. Cheap gas. My daughter drove it 3 years for that.

So basically become the crazy cat lady, but with smarts instead?

You and I would be great friends. Lol. I'm working on catching up to your smart count. Just have 2 people to convince its a wise decision to spend an extra $78/month for an ED. Lol.

Johannes, just south of you there are two 2015 EDs just waiting to be snatched up, and free from BAP. Of all people who should've learned this lesson... ! How many good deals are you going to let slip away??

We would! I need to move to California, really get a new start on life! :D

And yes, I will be a crazy car lady. Every smart will have a name and some unique quirk or modification. I'll be sure to import a roadster or two, maybe somehow convince smart to give me one of the two formores in existence too. :)
