To get a key ordered from Mercedes one needs proof of ownership and ID. Only the owner is allowed to order keys. Not 100% this is how they implement it with smart, but they have a central location that stores the key patterns.....

Registration papers, or the vehicles title. The title should have been sign off to you, from the seller. Here in the states, you need the title to I register the car to your name. Also to purchase license plates.

Keys, can be bought at any smart dealer ship. They have to special order them. Using the Vin number of the car. $$$$$$. Then that dealership has to program the new keys to that vehicle. Another cost.

Yeah. I can order new metal keys to match smart ignitionlock, 2pcs cost 89 euros?.
16euros /pcs cost fob/buttos/electronics, i can code those my self (maybe with MB Star C3)?

Real problem is those usa registeration papers.

Last 4 years smart was standing still @ our city harbor... it was so cheap, cannot resist deals like that. 236?
