Hi,
I just bought old smart ForTwo 451 from nearest harbor.
All documents have been lost, and even keys
Now i need old car register papers from USA, is it possible to order those?

To get a key ordered from Mercedes one needs proof of ownership and ID. Only the owner is allowed to order keys. Not 100% this is how they implement it with smart, but they have a central location that stores the key patterns.....

Keys aren't problem, i can order those with proof of ownership, But old registration papers is needed to get it registered here in Finland.

Maybe you could go by the plates on the car(??) and contact that region to get info on the previous owner. Not sure how that would work in Finland..

The State the vehicle was sold from can produce a "duplicate title" for the owner, but I'm experienced with only two states, CA and OH.

In Minnesota, a duplicate title has to be requested by the owner who's name is on the current title

Keys, can be bought at any smart dealer ship. They have to special order them. Using the Vin number of the car. $$$$$$. Then that dealership has to program the new keys to that vehicle. Another cost.

Yeah. I can order new metal keys to match smart ignitionlock, 2pcs cost 89 euros?.
16euros /pcs cost fob/buttos/electronics, i can code those my self (maybe with MB Star C3)?

Real problem is those usa registeration papers.

Last 4 years smart was standing still @ our city harbor... it was so cheap, cannot resist deals like that. 236?

I have real mercedes EPC (online version), it should notify if it is stolen.

Random russian guy imported this one for his wife. Keys get lost and wife says that is ugly car so it was cheaper to leave here in Finland (our rax is 10% and VAT is 24%)

In the USA you can get a title for an abandoned car, but it isn't easy. I believe it has to go through the courts system.
