Looks like this is only for the new front-drive M-B chassis, which is under the new A-class, B-class, CLA, etc. It's arguable whether those are any more a real M-B than the BMW "active tourer" is a real BMW.

I know BMW already does front-drive, but they're called Mini, and that's OK, and that M-B has already done front-drive in the A-class and B-class ... and I know there are CAFE and CO2-emission reasons for them doing this ... and I think the CLA is actually a pretty good looking car ... but it still just seems wrong to have a M-B (or BMW) branded vehicle that is front drive.

I wonder how many people buying a CLA even realize that it's transverse-engine front drive ...

GoFaster, have you heard about BMW's plans for the new MINI FWD platform?

There are going to be quite a few BMW models with FWD in the future!

The only BMW I like is the i3. The others are all driven by jerks!

Most Mercedes don't really appeal to me at all - I only own one because Renault didn't offer the Scénic to Canadians.
