I am a recent new (2013 Pure/Passion) Smart owner. I tend not to let cars fall below 1/4 tank before filling, but living near mountains and desert I would like to know about how many miles are left with one bar showing on the fuel indicator. Or better yet, how many miles may I expect from full to empty. The odometer is my gas gauge on motorcycles.

You have about 9 gallons of usable fuel in the tank when it is full. Do a bit of math and you will have your answer.
