Hi All: I’m in need of a little help here.Just bought a brand new 2018 Smart Fortwo Passion with touch display from a Mercedes Benz dealer. Car was delivered without he SD card. When I called the dealership they said that had to be purchased separately. Can anyone confirm if you received the card with the car?
Seems odd to spend $1200 for the nav option only to be forced to spend another $300 for an sd card.

Finally got the Dealership to admit they failed to provide the sd card with the sale of a new car. In transit to me now. Curious if it should be cloned before use as a backup, will a cloned card actually work?

yes, it did for me. so.... did you
1. format it for fat32? or ntfs (windows default, but won't work with tomtom)
2. reboot the smart media system with sd inserted? hit home 5 times.
3. run the smart media software from tomtom and try to read the card?

when you look at the SD with a computer, you are looking for a file tomtom.000 that file 'represents' your device in the software, then you can upgrade your tomtom. i was able to move to the most recent software available from them....
unfortunately. in my case, i bought new maps and then found i could not fit them on to the sd card. even though i have 32GB SD card. the tomtom software only sees 4gb.
there fore, i gave up on it. and have decided to buy an android head unit and replace it.

sorry that is not a happy ending.
