a good place to start is to see what does work. Turn on the key... any lights on the dash? check headlights, turn signals, radio, door locks, etc

sounds ominous, I replaced the battery and fixed mine when it did that....

Try another battery...................
See if you have brake lights when you push the peddle...............
Check all your grounds................
