Just got my new 2016 Passion today! Trying to read the manual and getting a little overwhelmed. It’s so cute!

🤔 I can’t see anything. I click on the link and it tells me an error occurred. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Let me try again.

Ah there we go! Congrats on your new baby! 😊
Congrats on the new Smart! Word of warning, properly washing those wheels is a pita. I use a speedbrush on the barrels, small boars hair brush for lugs, squarish boars hair for face and a tuffshine brush for tires. Finish with a micro fiber noodle style mitt for the face and what can get between the 'spokes'. Of my cars, this one is the most challenging due to the sheer number of individual open spots.
Nice colour combo (y)

Do not know if you had the 451 or 450 previously, but I had them both and the 453 is a massive improvement on the previous Smarts. It has a wider bigger cabin, smoother transmission (manual and auto versions, driven both) and has far softer and forgiving suspension. I have a 2019 cabrio now and its just brilliant. It was one of the last petrol (gas) versions from the factory before production of their fuelled cars ceased. Pity!

Oh my! I hadn’t thought of that. It came so nice and shiny after being detailed from the dealer. Thanks for the warning!

I would have loved the cabrio version! I was disappointed the sunroof didn’t open. No, this is my first Smart! I think I’ll love it! So sad they aren’t being made anymore. Are they still making the electric version in Europe?

They are making and still selling in europe the electric 453 only, both Fortwo EQ and Forfour EQ models, till end of production of the European factory (in France) a number of months before the end of 2022. We can still buy these EQ electric models in the UK. Then a new electric Smart will be made in the new Chinese factory in 2022. It will have a new shape, likely a longer range than present electric 453 (range worry is a problem), but price will still be very high compared to a fuelled car. I will still stick with petrol (gas) thanks. So my days of buying new Smarts are surely over.

That’s why I felt like I had to get one before they were gone! Now I just have to make it last forever!

Interestingly, the 2020 to 2022 electric 453s have controversial tail lights with the German IRON CROSS look, likely to compete against the latest Mini's UNION JACK (UK) look of their tail lights. I personally do not like the look of either :D Some of the 453 owners here in Europe and UK are buying and retrofitting the Iron cross type to their 453 to give it the latest look, but do require coding to get the electrics to work right. The flashers (side repeaters) flash double speed if not coded.

Huh, I'm not seeing the Iron Cross in that design. I mean, I suppose if I squint I see it! They just look like an X to me. I do think the new design is pretty busy though, I like the older "afterburner" style:

But the new LED headlights? OH I GOTTA GET ME SOME OF THOSE. Such a shame these cars launched with dim halogen reflectors.
