I just brought my new '05 CDI (450) to New England from sunny FLA. I split my time between New Haven and Newport and would love to meet up with other owners to gather/share info and stories.

That's awesome! I would love to see a 450 in person! I'm the Ct chapter president and I welcome you to SCoA and New England! If you are ever in New Haven, I would love to meet up with you in Derby (if you are close to there) and have a good talk! :D

I am the buyer of what has infamously become known at the "Gainesville Ebay" CDI. Just drove it back to New Haven from Florida on 17.5 gallons. The car will be in New Haven for the next few weeks as I collect parts to do a thorough servicing and a minor repair.

I used to live in Shelton so I know that area pretty well and would welcome an excuse to take the car down the Merritt and up 34. I have the rest of the week free so any day or night works. I'm very fond of good beers (and fond of cheap beers too), so we can meet up anywhere....

Where are you going to be two Sundays from now? There is an awesome car show on 34 I attend every Sunday. Your car would be one of the biggest hits there. It's incredibly rare to see a 450 in the states and I have never seen one personally. Two Sundays from now, there will be a car show in Orange then I will cruise up to the Derby show afterwards. What do you think? :)

Also, I myself am very fond of good and cheap beers. :D

Send me the info for those shows. I'd love to attend. The car is going on the rack next week. New EMC slotted rotors, greenstuff pads, both belts, and changing all 4 filters and fluids. We have a solid day's work ahead of us pending the timely arrival of these German parts. Also, the car is spitting a little oil. I've tracked down a few culprits from this forum and it looks like it may be re-aspirated turbo oil that's leaking from the intercooler manifold (a common problem on the 450 cdi apparently). We won't know until we tear down. It's not a huge problem but when it rains that oil gets blasted all over the boot.

Hey Brian,

Here is more information about the show. Milford Lions Club - Lions e-Clubhouse Good luck with your smart and getting everything done to it! If you come to the show, you could meet Butch who is the most knowledgeable car guy I have ever known and if you have any questions, I'm sure he would be delighted to help you out! :D

Sincerely,
Brett
