If anyone wants one, I will 3d print one in a colour of you choice and post it for $15US or £10gbp

But you use it at your own discretion, I will not be liable for any injuries or death because you didn't use common sense <img src="https://smartcarofamerica.com/forums/images/SmartCarOfAmerica/smilies/tango_face_smile.png" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" smilieid="1" class="inlineimg" />
Any chance I could get the .stl for for it, or whatever you used? Believe a friend of mine has a 3d printer.

Interesting. In warm weather I often ride around my community with the windows down and rear hatch up on my ‘16 453. Nice air flow and cooling. Only concern long distance is if exhaust gases are sucked in. Shouldn’t be with side windows down.

I would not use that on a gas version. But, maybe an EV or EQ?

I ended up making my own for about $2. Used a carabiner clip from Dollar Tree, a bolt, two giant washers, and a wingnut.

My smart isn't tuned the best and I can definitely smell fumes in the cabin when sitting idle. It's not any worse than any of my two stroke motorcycles though, so I'm not bothered.

Can you show us, I'm intrigued...
Sure thing! I don't have a picture of mine, but here's the one from the guy (Evan P) that I copied. Works perfect in the 450 and 451. Haven't tested the 453 yet but I see no reason it wouldn't work there, too. Want a bigger vent? Just use a bigger carabiner clip. :) I went with a set of bigger washers than him because I wanted more surface area to grip onto the latch.

Just an update... Had a friend of mine print up a window prop for my 453 (different from the one shown here), and with my muffler removed, it sounds pretty nice. I was thinking, when the engine is under load, or at a lower rpm in a higher gear, it sounds like a mix between a diesel truck and a spitfire plane engine.

Or.... As that same friend annoyingly pointed out this past weekend... the V1 rocket from Battlefield 5

Anyone using this is just asking for a broken rear hatch lid on a 451. The rear hatch glass is only glued to a plastic frame that over time will break with just opening and closing the hatch. Adding this to the center only will allow the rear hatch to flex and twist while driving resulting in either a broken hatch frame or shattered glass. Good luck to those risking it.
