Hey I have a 2008 smart car fortwo. Noticed that if I didnt start it for 2-3 days the battery would be dead enough to not turn over. Yesterday I replaced the battery and the after market alarm went crazy and would not shut off so we disconnected it. The lights flash 30 times than go off. You open any door and the lights will flash 30 times again. Drove it home last night and the lights flash 30 times when you press the gas. So now I ride around with all the lights flashing. I have tried to research and everything I find is minimal flashes. There are no codes on the dash stating anything is wrong. Can someone please direct me where to go with this

The problem is the 'after market' alarm system.

Ditch it.

I was thinking that but wanted to get clarification. Its like the alarm lights go but not the siren since I disconnected that. Being uninstalled today! thank you so much for responding
Reason being the entire electrical system in a Smart is controlled by and thru the computer. Anything that alters the current flow can lead to gremlins.

Even aftermarket radios can have problems.

Whats odd is I bought this car in August 2020 and never had a issue til I put a new battery in. Didnt even know that there was a after market alarm system til it went freaking loud crazy when the new battery was installed
