Hi There,

My name us Alison and I own a Smart For Two Passion 2008. I have had several problems with my smart car, but the biggest is that the Tow Away Alarm is very sensitive and will sound with what appears to be no disturbances. Before reading these forums I didn't even know it was the Tow Away Alarm, so now I am steps closer to getting it turned off for good! I have tried to find a couple posts but find that I need more detail to figure out how to complete disable this alarm. When I try to turn it off following the instructions in the manual I have no way of knowing if it works. I will shake the car and nothing happens, but the light continues to flash and then out of no where it will alarm again. I tried to call the number in front of the manual but it took me to a survey to win a cruise....number must not be working any longer. I do have an appointment with the dealership but would LOVE to avoid having to see them and pay them anything. I have been getting complaints from surrounding residents where I work as my alarm will sound in the early morning. I can sometimes hear it inside. So, to be clear MY QUESTION IS - could somebody please, in specific detail ( as though you were explaining to a baby) how to permanently disconnect the Tow Away Alarm. Thank you!

Most of the members are in South Dakota at an event so you may not get an answer right away. I have not had to deal with the alarm system, but there are plenty of members that have and can give you an idea of what to do.

Nah, SOME of the 49,144 SCoA Members are in SD at a smart event. MOST of us regretfully couldn't attend?

Granted there currently may be a bit of a "brain drain" with some of the "active" SCoA folks road tripping . . .

But more important, Alison WELCOME to The Asylum aka SCoA!

Hey Alison, welcome to the forum. Not wishing to add more misery (honest) there's always the chance that the previous owner ( I'm assuming there was one) may have had a third party alarm system installed. Meaning that it was taken to specialist and had non smart alarm fitted. This could mean that the fuse location could be completely different to what you hear from any of the members here. That said, it could also be very obvious because of that fact. Let us know how you get on.
