Noisy cabrio top

2016 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Jo e Lefors
Whenever I raise my cabrio top, it makes a really loud "CLICK" sound when it becomes vertical. Everything seems to work, nothing is leaking (we've had enough rain I'm sure that I would have noticed), it's just very noisy. I've tried spraying some lubricant on the joints, but that makes no difference.
So, my question is where is this noise coming from, is it an indication that something worse is going to happen, and can I fix it? Simple, right?

TIA

Russ

This is not normal. As the tops shrink with time, ultimately the side rails get out of alignment with the slides at the intersection with the rails. The loud click, pop, or clunk is the result of a collision of out of alignment parts. Here is an alignment video that I found to be very helpful.
