I have a 2009 passion with about 77k miles. Friday after stopping to drop off a package, the engine started making noises, as if the belt or a belt was flapping. I could drive the car but with increased engine speed the sound increased, if I slowed down the sound decreased. By the time I got home the noise was not as lowd, but was still a whineing sound. I checked under the car to see if perhaps I was dragging something, it was ok. I am just asking you all if anybody has experienced anything like this, or recommendations as what to check. Could it be a rod or piston issue? Thanks T

Check the belts (you can do so by looking under the rear bumper then looking towards the right side of the engine. One of your belts may have frayed and is beating against the engine with every rotation.
