Stitch is now 5 years 2 months old, and the gas mileage has dropped 10% recently.

She's due for the annual checkup (only 41k miles), but I don't have the time nor $$$ to take her to the dealer. Last time, it was over $400 for the routine maintenance. No brakes (I did, with ceramic pads), no tires, just the filters and oil change.

Can anyone recommend a place in Delaware OR a chain like AAMCO or Jiffy Lube to do the non-warranty annual maintenance?

Thanks!

PS - I installed a rear camera and have footwell interior lights to install this weekend. Photos to be posted in "What did you do recently" thread. ?

Call around and find an independent MB shop that will work on Smarts. Doing the oil and filters is a pretty easy chore to DIY if you're into it. I do my own because I've heard too many horror stories about quick lube places stripping oil pan plugs, forgetting to refill oil or using the right filters. You can do 10 oil changes yourself for what the dealer charges for one.

As for your mpg, IIRC, 40K is when the maintenance schedule calls for new spark plugs. It may be as simple as that.
