I have an OBD II Reader but it has a different style plug (fits my 1999 Chevy Van and 2009 Suzuki SX4 ) vs the style of connector in the 453 OBD connection . Is there an adaptor out there to fit my reader so I can do some scanning when needed , and will I be able to reset service reminders on this device or will I need a specific tool to do so.

I thought OBD II was universal? My OBD II scanner fits in my 450, 451, and 453. The 453's port (driver footwell, left side) has a nasty hook on it but it should fit OBD II plugs.

Unless I'm mistaken I believe the maintenance indicator should be able to be reset using the steering wheel buttons.

Upon closer inspection , yes my OBD II plug does fit . I’ll check fitment once the weather breaks cause the car is stored now for winter .. as for the re set , I’m not sure how to go about that . I know how to do it on the 451’s , but info on the 453 isn’t popping up when doing a search .
