Royal Purple 0W-40. My mechanic liked that I'm using "the good stuff."New to the Smart car scene. What grade of motor oil does most people tend to use..? I see some are using synthetics while others are using 10w30, what's the best..? Same for brands of filters, oil, air, etc. Just want take the right path for dependable service..
What I bought was the 0w40 synthetic oil. The Smart had the oil changed when I bought but come July (?) I plan to change the motor oil with this synthetic plus the oil filter. At the same time, I plan to change the transmission fluid, air cleaner and spark plugs with Bosch YR7NE Spark Plugs. I just changed the brakes on the rear (front brakes were good) and will be taking the Smart into a body shop to repair the non-aligned passenger door issue, replacing both hinges. Other then that it seems like a solid car..Royal Purple 0W-40. My mechanic liked that I'm using "the good stuff."
