If you own a 450, I highly recommend getting an oil catch can, I've had mine on for about a year and a half. Today I noticed a oil leak for the first time. I had a few drops on the ground after a 60 mile trip. It was coming from the dip stick. I was pushing the smart hard going up grade in 95° weather. I must have gotten some crankcase pressurization under those long high boost runs, 70-75 mph at 10-12 lbs. I decided to drain the catch can for the first time. It was full of foamy oil, about 12 ounces. I checked the dip stick and it was down a little from where I normally run it, half way between the full and needs oil mark. It's close to oil change time-every 7500 miles but the oil I the engine still looked pretty good. I think the catch can was full and blocking the drain tube causing the pressure to build until it pushed the dip stick up and vented. I am sure glad that isn't in the intercooler. I recommend 450 owner's think about putting one on their car.
