Anyone else ever have this code? "ECM internal engine-off timer "

Apparently this tells the ECU how long the engine has been since it's last been run. Why this matters is beyond me and I used to have 5 ASE cert's in my youth. From what I gather this is likely some fault of the ECU not getting proper voltage from the battery (I'm guessing the shop that installed my sound system messed something up here) and the ECU can't tell how long the engine has been shut off. This is probably also why my radio head unit displays 12:00 every time I start the car.

The interesting thing is that this error code manifests itself by causing EVAP system issues like the other 2 codes I was having. I'm a little confused though because I had the evap leak code for weeks before the radio was installed.

Either way it's going to a shop this week to get sorted out. This morning had a hard start, almost cut off for several seconds until it warmed up a bit. Not good signs for a car with only 8k miles on it.

Regarding the clock showing 12:00,, I'd say the stereo installers just forgot to reset it to the correct time after being powered off during the stereo install. One thing for certain is if you have low voltage directly from the battery you will likely get several odd symptoms, like cranking but not starting, or the engine just shutting down while driving. I threw in a new battery in my 450 this last winter, and it seemed to fix both of these symptoms fo me.

I figured out the clock issue. My head unit was never set. When I pair my phone it displays the correct time but unpairing the phone reverts it back to the set time... Which has never been set. My fault, nobody else's.

Still waiting to get EVAP system leak tested. Hopefully it'll be a quick fix. I need more seat time in the little guy.
So I rechecked the codes, cleared them and then drove about a hundred miles last night and the light hasn't come back on.

No clue what happened but it obviously doesn't bother the car now so I'm going to consider the case closed until it pops up again.
