Sometimes if you catch the dealer on a good day maybe with a dozen donuts, they will ignore the fact that your car is out of warranty, especially if it is only a few days out and if you have used them for most of your work during the warranty period.
Thanks for your advice! My warranty expired 2 months to the day that the check engine light came on. They are quoting $431 to fix. It looks like a common problem so I will beg my service adviser, I only have 20,000 miles on her and I have to drive 4 hours to the dealership. Maybe they will have pity on me.
