I am on holiday with my smart 451 2012. During the regular driving in automatic mode it just went to N mode and started loosing power and stopped. After turn of it show 3 bars linear on computer and cant power on. After some minutes when computer had restarted ,it normally went on. I found error code p0915 with repairman on his computer.

Welcome to SCoA! Few things:

1. Check battery connection. A poorly connected battery will cause faults in the transmission.

2. Check battery health. A battery in poor health will also cause shifting issues.

3. Disconnect and reconnect the battery after 30 min. Sometimes problems occur just because the computers aren't the smartest thing in the world. A battery disconnect should reset them. My 2012 has done this a few times, in each time disconnecting the battery was the cure.

M&M, good advice!

Niiwill, If this works, but you also develop shifting issues, try the transmission relearn. Lock/unlock car, foot on brake, key to pos 1, slowly shift thru gears P, R, N, D, then back, key off, foot off brake. This has worked for me before I did the shift actuator and gear motor R&R's with cleaning and lubing.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Well, since you asked!!! Yes, the gear motors will require the removal of the air box. That is a pain in the behind... and that is putting it mildly.
Even Evolution makes it sound pretty routine, but believe me... that is not the case.
I had to cut my air box to get it out, but that was OK, as I have the Madness cold air intake on order... or should I say backorder.
All the info here about removing the motors is pretty much straight forward. I also used this opportunity to change the tranny fluid. It was much easier to refill thru the motor opening.
Cleaned the motors with electric cleaner, and all went together quite easily.
The results were quite impressive, and I enjoy driving it more...…!
