Hey guys and gals, I see an advertisement for a "smart chip" that is supposed to add horsepower and fuel economy. It's $69.00. My question is how will this chip affect the factory warranty? Any ideas as to weather or not this is a good idea on a 2012 with 2600 miles on it.

Thanks

Michael

The ad says it does not effect the warranty, but I'm wondering if we could get feedback from members who have it on their car. I'm interested in buying it also. I'd like to hear if it does what it says and if owners are happy with the purchase.

All it does is make the car think it's running cold...it'll run rich all the time...how much more power would you get? Probably none. You would probably definitely lose fuel economy.

I have a cigarette lighter version that claims it can increase power and responsiveness by "stabilizing the electrical system". All it did was tell me how many volts were coming out of the cigarette lighter.

Stay far far away from those gimmicks...
