On my 2012 ForTwo Pure with 70k miles, a week ago the left door lock quit locking by key button or dash button; anyone else seen this? The right door and hatch lock OK, door opens/closes fine. I removed the door outer panel & door handle per davemunk's excellent youtube; with handle off the door but cables connected, it locks fine.Maybe it's binding?

The place where the door keyhole should be, is covered with a black plug with a key graphic, but there's a lock cylinder behind it & a cable that would let you lock all the power locks with a key, and it works. Can I remove the plug somehow & use my key to lock it?

Nope. The cable pulls in one direction only, to unlock the doors. You can't push it to lock the doors. :)

Agreed it seems strange, but I was able to push the cable & lock all doors, similar to turning the key & locking my Corolla :)

Anyway, anyone else not able to lock the driver door? Other doors lock & I hear the "chunk" so it's trying to lock... Thanks!!
