Hello to all friends, I am writing from Italy to ask for a little help. I have a smart 450 second series 600cc. Fitted with a bosch ecu with code hw 005. Unfortunately during the writing of the flash memory the ecu is dead. I replaced it with one with code hw 004 (smart first series). After coding the key the car starts and it is okay only that the battery light stays on and I noticed that the alternator does not charge the battery. What do you think it could be? I am forced to mount an ecu 005 again? or is the alternator really dead? Thanks a lot to everyone !

Seems the same unit does not recognize the alternator.
I had mine go and replaced it and had to reflash the sàm .
The sàm will open a relay ( I think) to the alternator sending power to the field powering it up. I'm not sure if it also regulates the alternator.
There is another fix, it bypasses the sàm, but not sure if or how such works,
