Me and my mom installed a speaker in my smart today - had no issues until it came to sliding the panel back on, any tips or tricks on how to get it back on? thanks!

The door skin/panel

Had to take it off to get to the speakers ://

Line up the little tab with the handle, push the door skin all the way forwards (to the front of the car), then rotate the skin upwards to match the angle. Then reach under the door skin (at the bottom front corner) and push it in hard. Slide your hand up and push the rest of the door skin over the front edge of the door. Then I lightly "slap" the top of the door skin clips into the door. The top of the skin should then stay attached to the door. Then push the entire door skin towards the back of the car and it should stay. Then you can just screw in the big T25 screw to hold the door skin in place. From there you just reattach the mirror and everything else.

The first time removing and reinstalling the door panels can be a bit of a pain but once you’ve done it once it’s easier the next time.
