does anyone have knowledge of the VSTM mini HH OBD scanner/realtime device. i was watching youtube on how to clear check engine lights and he just hooked it up to OBD port and left it there. looking at his phone that was showing it as he cleared the check light it also gave an icon for real time and i was wondering what real time info it showed. i looked to see if i could send a msg to the seller on amazon but couldn't. so then i googled and could not find a good place to email someone.

anyway if it does show alot of realtime that would be cheaper then the scan or ultra gauge. it works on bluetooth. only problem is you have to link up each time you get in the car. i just can't afford $100.00 for the others.

Quick question, but what phone do you have? More than likely these are just obd2 dongles and you'll still need an app that can read the information (like torque) which can cost additional.

I have had my Scangauge II since 2008 and it is nice to check engine temp, and such from time to time. it is always plugged in and does turn off with the key.I set mine to show current MPG (not too accurate) RPM, temp, and MPH. Well worth the $100 I paid for it. You can also get a lower priced scangauge that doesn't have as much features. Being able to reset a CEL on the road is also a nice plus. I don't have to carry my scanned all the time.

There are lower cost units out there and I am sure they work fine. When I got mine, it was the only one out there. There is always the 'used market' and I have seen them on Ebay occasionally.

I would think running an app on your phone would tie it up too much.
