Please be honest! (Should I buy a smart?)
Not if you are wanting one for parking or even fuel mileage. But if you want to smile every time you get behind the wheel then go for it.
Do your due diligence and understand what you are getting into, very few people buy these cars, they lease them and that's why you see a flood of used ones on the market. If you don't know the workarounds they'll bleed you dry and after awhile that smile goes to a frown.
Same thing with electric cars, no one buys you lease because from the moment they install the batteries at the factory they are dying. A 3 year lease then get the hell out of it and into a new one. Let the next poor sucker behind you drop some serious repair coin on it.
But back to your Smart question, just understand who makes it and it starts at $25 dollars for them to say hello to you. And if you are forced into using them bring a jar of Vaseline, it's design to forever have their hands in your pockets.
I own one because I like to roll outside of what society considers normal and
there will never, ever be another car like the Smarts, e
ver in America again.
Read that again out loud to yourself.
