Quick EVAccess question

I have EVAccess for the iPhone. When I have notifications set up and the EVAccess icon shows a notification message is present, how can I tell which of the triggers generated that message? Or worse, it will say I have multiple notifications but I don't know which and don't know which chronological order.

Thanks.

Small community of iPhone (Android here) EvAccess users on SCoA - might be more user feedback over on Google Play?
How much different is the android version? I have a decision here in a couple of months to either continue with an iPhone (like my company phone) or go android.

I have EVAccess on my iPhone, but just set it up this morning for notifications in order to see what you're talking about.

I did a simple notification for SOC. When the condition was met, the app promptly sent me an email telling me exactly the status of my specific request.

Maybe I'm not understanding the issue?

I don't get an email notification. I only see a number next to the EVAccess icon that shows how many notifications there are. When I go into the notifications screen, there's no indication of which condition sent the notification.

I think I might get a text description of the notification but I have fingerprint unlocking so if I press the button with more than a fingernail, I log in and that text description goes away.

I see no place to configure email notification. I'm on version 2.1, build 17.

In your app on the iPhone, go to Settings > Notifications, and you'll see these user-defined options:

By the way, I get one email for each individual notification – not batched.

I don't have those options, in either the login and settings within the EVAccess app itself, nor within the notifications of the iPhone.

What version of EVAccess do you have? I just checked the app store and the version I have (2.1, build 17) is the most current version shown.

Steven, you are referring to the Smart Vehicle "Home Page" or the M-B product.

InjuredAgain is questioning EvAccess (a true app) originally developed for Android and recently made available to iPhone users.

Truly apples to android . . .

Yes, I figured that out before seeing your post, and was going to reply the same. Anyway, as you showed me originally,, the "homepage" looks and functions exactly like an app and works perfectly on an iPhone.

OK, I downloaded the EV app. Thanks for letting me know about it.

To InjuredAgain, check your iPhone settings (not the app Settings) to make sure everything is toggled on correctly (see pic) for iPhone notifications. You might want to change from "Banners" to "Alerts" mode.

The only thing not available on the EVAccess app that's on the smart ED app is the latter's nice "Vehicle Finder" feature.

Okay, so to be sure, Steven, the first screen captures you showed were from Safari accessing the Smart homepage at vh.smart.com?

I've never done that on my iPhone as I grabbed EVAccess right away and have been using it.

And so another question. The "Charging power" is never at what I set it to, no matter if I "Charge now" or set a departure time. I've always set it at 12 amps and never see more than about 1 kw. But is that 1 kw into the battery and excludes losses elsewhere in the system, or is that 1 kw going through the plug and into the Smart?

You can create a virtual app using the vh.smart.com homepage. From the first Safari icon to the right of the URL search window in the menu bar, select "Add to Home Screen".

Did it help you to change your notifications in Settings?

The charging power should be the charger input power reported by the car. If you are seeing 1.x kW on the app you're using the supplied EVSE plugged into a 15A, 120V circuit.

We've seen up to 1.7 kW reported on the app when plugged into a 20A, 120V circuit. Similarly on a 240V EVSE we've see 3.4 kW reported.

The Android and iPhone apps are generally pretty similar even if they do suffer from slightly different UIs. Subjectively speaking we've found the android version a bit more reliable and it gets updated quicker. I wouldn't use the app differences to make a choice between iPhone and Android.

The car doesn't report charging power, only estimated time of completion. The app calculates power from that. It's a rough guess at best.

Oh, and max current draw from 120V using the smart-supplied brick is always 12A. The car doesn't know if it's plugged into a 15 or 20A circuit.
And from the DOE, EVSE charging options (Level 1, 2 limited by on-board charger to 3.3 kW & DC) . . .
