Can someone help me figure out which fan I need. I found someone who used to work on smart cars and is willing to install for me on his day off but he doesn't have time to also help me find the fan online. My fan still works but is loose. You can reach in and feel its loose. The one in the front under hood, next to the radiator. . I guess this is called a radiator fan? YES or NO? When I look for them I see prices from 30 to 200 so how do I know which is which? I would like to get one off ebay or Amazon if someone can help me figure out which one I need. Is an universal fan ok to use?

No need to start a second thread. I have been out of town for a few days.. I answered your questions in the other thread

I got the cooling fan from Orieleys auto parts locally, a 10 inch fan that can be set as a pusher or a puller fan. the brackets were some scrap aluminum that I had laying around and mounted the fan in front of the radiator. Had to remove the front end to get it in place, but that is not difficult, about a dozen screws. I wired in to the same wires from the old fan so the computer will turn it on and off like a stock unit. I recall the fan was around 70 bucks(??)

I used a Hayden 12" fan from O'Rieleys auto parts. most auto places probably have the same ones. I opted for a low profile one and it was reversible (push-pull) by switching the wires. Brackets were made from some aluminum straps left over from mounting rain gutters on the house. (easy to bend and drill) This is probably the 4th post on this same subject.

Thanks to your write up of this subject, I’m installing a fan on the front of one of my Smarts that the radiator fan went out on. I’m curious now though; in the pic of your car above, I see two horns. Mine only has one. Did you install another horn or am I missing one? I did buy this car used so there’s no telling what’s been done to it before I got it.
