in case some of you were not aware there is a secret menu built into the radio. press the 3 and 6 button together and hold. there is alot of info. i found it by accident on Evilution and have looked and searched and cannot find it again, it explains everything

i even looked in the owners manual quickly and saw nothing

Is radio 9 the basic slimline unit? And what info is displayed? I don't want to press 3 and 6 and have the German police show up to demand that I stop doing that., or else

I have the radio 9 (single CD unit in a 2009 451). Pressing the 3 & 6 buttons while it is in radio mode (aux mode does not work) brings up about a dozen parameters, one at a time. To step through these items, the "<" & ">" buttons next to the volume button are used. To select an item (if available), turn the volume knob.

Here's what my radio revealed:

• ZB VMEUSN8
• ZB 0002950
• SWV 020306
• HWV 010700
• ALL PIX ON <-- turning the vol knob activates all pixels
• SPKR TEST <-- turning the vol knob displays "FL 500HZ" then "FR 500HZ" while playing a tone through each speaker respectively
• VIEW DTC <-- turning the vol knob displayed "NO DTC"
• CLEAR DTC
• ANT ON
• SIG 0199
• MUL 00
• MSV 030107

Some of these items are probably serial numbers and firmware versions.
