I have a 2013 Smart Fortwo pure and there is a loud rattling noise coming from the back of the car but only when idling. When you accelerate the noise goes away. Any ideas?

It is metallic. It sounds like tin cans clanging together.

If it isn’t the heat shield rattling. Be sure
To also check the flex pipe, to
The muffler. They are known to break, and
It could be banging away on the heat shield.
