Rear window release handle replacement

This car has turned out to be a money pit and I'm a bit frustrated. I have a 2009 Smart Fortwo Passion. My rear window hatch button (the handle that causes the motor to make that sound and the back to open) some how literally dissappeared and fell off as i was driving home. I am a poor college student with little to no money to take it in. I have to try to do the repair myself. Can someone please help me identify the parts I need and find some guidance on how to fix the problem?
