Is there by now a consensus as to what the front tire pressure should be on a 451 smart fortwo running stock rear wheels and tires (175/55 R15) on the front end?

I run 175/55R-15's all around. I run 30psi cold in front & 36psi cold, in the rear tires. The tires are wearing perfectly.

OEM rear rims/tires on 4 corners at 32/36 psi.

Take the fronts too hard and the "safety nannies" may talk to you during "twisted" driving.

Depends on the "Max Inflation" number on the side of the tire, and how much comfort vs fuel economy/tread wear you want.

I tend to inflate hard, for mileage and tread wear. Ride is a little rough...

Max is 250 kpa, 35 psi, I use 200 front, 225 rear,
Max is 300 kpa, 44 psi, I use 250 front, 275 rear, Smart OEM tires usually have this max...
Max is 350 kpa, 51 psi, I use 265 front, 300 rear, the General RT43's and older HP's (my current tires) in 185/55R15 are both 51 psi max...

I would start 20-25 kpa under my numbers, and add 5-10 kpa until ride is too harsh, then go back to kpa that was comfortable...
