How "easy" (meaning can it be done without removing the engine) are the spark plugs tubes themselves to remove?

And what sort of seal or gasket is at the bottom? Is that accessible to change, without engine disassembly (assuming that you didn't have to disassemble the engine to get the tubes out to begin with).

Thanks

Do you mean the coils that sit on top of the spark plugs? If so, they are easily removable without removing the engine (to replace plugs or coils). You may need to twist it once you unclip the electrical connectors/remove the bolt inorder break them lose. The seal at the bottom of the coil is to keep dirt and debris out and also shield the plug from the block, the spark plug seat makes the seal to the engine. Did you have a plug blow out or something?

I've changed them out on the Mitsu and the Renault platforms by hanging them to the side.... .....NO ENGINE REMOVAL. It's a pain on the 451; yet a breeze on the 453!
