So I’ve replaced this bulb twice within the last week. Took it to a repair shop and they told me to go to a dealership. I made an appointment but it’s not for another week and a half. The repair shop assumed the same thing I did. The bulb was overheating and burst again. Should I just replace that entire sides bulb housing ? I noticed some water in the lens housing. So I figured maybe I should just replace that and the socket. Any other suggestions?

Water touching a hot bulb will definitely break the bulb. You should completely dry the water before replacing the bulb again.

Alternatively, you could switch to LEDs if you don’t mind fast-flashing turn signals. If that bothers you, a load resistor can be added to eliminate the LED “hyper flash.”

Do you happen to know what led bulbs fit a 2011 Smart Fortwo Passion? I’m gonna clean that water out and try this.
