Miss Mercedes has reported a post.

Reason:
Alright, so I'm apparently on sykes' email list and he spams his email list frequently about parts he's getting in from random suppliers.

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's just helping out smart owners, but with the sheer volume of parts he's handling nowadays I feel he's definitely crossing into that vendor line. He's been asking his email list over and over if they want these end cap things and presumably nobody wants them, so now he's offering them here on an unrelated post.
Post: HELP: drive shaft heavy rust, is it unsafe now?

Luckie, This may be somewhat unrelated, but first of all I agree with the other folks - have the drive shafts replaced and anything else that is involved with replacing the drive shafts. Another matter of concern and I say that is worse than the drive shafts is having the tubular swing axle of the rear subframe get very rusted to the point of rotting away because obviously replacing that along with replacing all the other stuff like the drive shafts/wheel bearings/and etcetera because the ends of that tube axle are OPEN to everything. A cheap and affective way to stop that or even slow it down once rust started inside is simply install caps to keep the elements and debris out of there. I put rubber caps on mine ages ago. But now I have plastic caps that are also decorative with either the Smart Logo or just the word "SMART" on them in yellow. I'm selling them for $21 a pair shipped/mailing included.
Contact me if you would like a pair. Thanks, sykes05
PS: I have pictures of both, but I guess I'm in my limit for attachments and don't know how to get rid of old ones.

Have either of you communicated with him about what's going on? He's been a member for ten years and it doesn't look like he's had any infractions. Should we give him the benefit of the doubt and ask? He said he bought a boat load of parts awhile back. Is he just trying to get rid of them or is he in fact in the business now of selling parts?

I'll defer to you two. I'm not on his e-mail list, so he isn't bothering me.

I once asked him for a clutch actuator for a 450 and ever since I've been on his email list. He didn't just buy a single batch of parts, he's constantly ordering parts non-stop and trying to sell what he doesn't want.

To his credit he did seem to take my hint that he can't just dump all his parts on this forum. It just seems weird to me that he's jumping into a thread to sell something that has no relation to the subject at hand. Especially since I'm on his email list and it's clear none of us are interested in those caps.

I PM'd him, with copies to all of you. Here's the response:

These are excess items I have around. I tend to buy items for cars I like and own so I have them when I need them. My cars are always odd ball cars. And yes you are correct. I forgot going back and forth getting swept up in that rust conversation and in that back and forth I mentioned that I do have those plugs which should be in the "market Place section." Sorry I didn't think.
Thank You, sykes05

Ah, so he's just sitting on a mountain of parts he's collecting for his own cars, selling off anything he doesn't think he'll need. I mean, I guess so long as he keeps the selling on SCoA to a minimum?
