Help, I have a 2006 Smart Fortwo diesel. Sometime it runs perfect, sometime the car turns on but the engine does not start. If I wait 30 minutes and try again the engine starts. I had a new battery put in yesterday. Does anyone have any idea where to start with this?

I had one of those! Hovering was the term we used when the ICE shuts down after stepping on the clutch while slowing down. Kinda like D- in a smart ED.
