Latest version is scammers replying to Marketplace posts via a direct conversation (formerly PM) mentioning a "friend" who has what you're looking for, offering an email address for further negotiation and then some suspect form of payment for you to use. Run away! "Let the buyer beware" means exactly what it says...

Here's a recent example: "hey i do have the Steering wheel wire harness write me at andrewgray456 at aol"

Scammers are still targeting ads in the Marketplace and contacting people by PM (conversation) instead of posting in the thread. If you get something like this, please use the "report" functions to let the mods know and we will ban the offenders.

Update: the scammers continue to target to Marketplace threads, especially the "Wanted" posts, with messages like this: "What’s up buddy I know of a guy who has a XXXX in excellent condition you can give him a shout on [email protected] if you still looking and thank me later"

Watch out for these people, they are persistent.
