hello fellow smarts! My driver side seat cushion recently ripped and I'm looking for a replacement. I just need the bottom section, not the back part. I called my dealer and they gave me an $800 quote for the seat and labor, but I'm a starving grad student and was hoping to do it myself. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can order this cushion? Thanks everyone! Safe driving

You're going to have to find it in a junk yard, or have the seat recovered

I would recommend contacting a local upholstery shop for a quote. Should be reasonable.

Just stitch it up and get a good seat cover...Much less expensive than replacing the seat.
Or if you are stitchless, a good upholstery shop can help you out.

wow, thank you everyone! I have thought about just stitching it up myself. But i can't even get a button on a shirt, so I guess the upholstery shop will be my next bet . . .

Just to be clear?
It is the fabric cover that is torn and you are looking to replace?

Then my suggestion would be contacting an upholstery shop and then get a quality seat cover (remember about the airbags on the sides of the seats)

I would ditto the suggestion for smartmadness (either for complete seats, or covers)

@wrumberger yes. It's just the fabric that is ripped. I didn't realize my jeans had sharp little grommets on them. I'm going to check out the suggestion. Thanks for ur help! Much appreciated!

Junkyard is your best bet, might be able to get just the cushion if you find a side impact car where the airbag deployed. If you are slightly mechanically inclined you can do it.
