Replaced the secondary air injection valve many folks on this forum suggested. Pump ran for a while and quit. Replaced pump 50A fuse, pump relay, and now the pump, after code for a failed pump came on.
Worked fine for a day until another check engine light came on with a code P2440 - Air injection System Switching Valve stuck open (bank 1)
. I'm assuming the valve opened because of the non-functioning pump. I'm old enough to remember smacking a starter solenoid with a screw-driver when it stuck. I rapped the valve, unplugged the electrical connector and 2 lines, and reattached.
Assuming the CEL will come on again (great timing; I'm due for a state inspection which will include emissions), does anyone have any suggestions how to unstick the valve, short of ordering another one? Thanks for any help you may have.
