My 2005 Smart fortwo passion coupe has been having some issues with shifting recently. When I press down on the break to shift it into automatic, it'll go to the O gear. Same with when I try to reverse it. I can usually get it into Automatic by first bumpimg it into 1st, but usually reverse takes quite a few back and forths of the shifter. Anyone know what this is? Is it low transmission fluid levels?

Sorry, the 2005 smart, is different vehicle then a 2008 model

Different it may be but it is probably the same fault.

Clutch actuator or a slim chance of it being the brake light switch.

Either road up there are loads of threads about it.
