The passenger-side shoulder belt has a retaining device that is supposed to be attached inside the headrest. Ours fell out. I have attached the picture below. Does anyone know if a piece is broken off the upper metal tab? The lower pice does have that 'L' shape, like it's clipping to a bracket inside the headrest. I had an upholstery shop try to re-fit it, but it would not stay in. The dealer says this bracket is Smart part number 451 860 00 22, and it's $146!! If it is broken, I'll buy it, but the parts guy's illustration is not clear if it's supposed to have an extra piece on it. Thanks!

There's a spring clip that holds that portion of the seat in place. I've fought with those messing with several smarts, still can't explain exactly how it fits in the seat frame and how to work around it.
Thanks, Stephen. I guess I will buy the replacement part, and hope it comes with the spring clip. I have some nice custom seat covers on the seats, and don't want to have to pull it apart to find the missing clip...
