Ok so i was driving in the rain and my skirts came off. I'm looking online for some but cant seem to find any. I have a 2012 Smart car Passion. I would like to know where i can find it and does it come painted already. As far as i know this panels are all just plastic not metal. does it come painted or do all of them come in the same as the 2010-2011? Any help you can provide with a link where i can get some parts from. I called the dealer but they are unable to answer a simple question. Gave them my vin and all and he is still unable to tell me if i will need to paint it or not.

The black panels come molded in color. (Your Smart is black, correct?) You should just have to order the rocker panels and pop them on.

Someone should have part numbers around here!
If you did not hit anything and the panel came off, it was not installed properly. Make M-B replace it, your car should still have warranty remaining.

Yah I tried that but CS told me too bad. I had them adjust the panela like 3 time and then the rain finished the job. The dealer said no and I called CS and they told me that I would have to go through my insurance, because it been more then 8 months since last time they fixed it.

So to be correct if I order this part it going ro come nice and shiny like my originals?

Just my .02 but those lower panels don't "just come off" from driving in the rain (or any other conditions.) They were not installed correctly is my guess. :)
The only problem I've ever had with the dealer was two visits in the middle of the past two Summers where I had them adjust my doors for rattling. It was fixed, then it returned, then they fixed it again... Except the blue panel rubs the Tridion and scratches it.

They told me the scratches were my problem because I asked them to adjust the door, and it's been a long time. I told them I didn't ask them to scratch the door. They basically told me to live with it.

I feel your pain, but the panel incident you're going through is much different. Parts should not fall off a car. Period.

They should be replacing them - they're relatively cheap, and very quick to install. Why does Mercedes pull this crap?

Because these are not mercedes benz, they are only Smart cars, and yes, they don't care, apparently. For most dealers they are looked at as a losing proposition, kinda like a gnat.
Most dealers don't have a Wrumbarger as a salesman nor do they know how to hire one either. And that is why we won't see the forfour in the US.
You can order your panels from www.smartpartsonline.com be sure to order the necessary clips to go with them. Most any good body shop should be able to put them on properly for you. You can do them yourself, to if you like with the guidance of instructions, on this site somewhere, or definitely on www.evilution.com .
Anyone else care to chime in with side skirt installation instructions?

I am unclear whether you are talking about a sartorial snafu or a automotive problem. I don't wear skirts, so I can not help with the former. If the latter and you are referring to the side panels below the doors, read on.

A 451 690 13 25 paneling, side sill left, illustration # 120

A 451 690 14 25 paneling, side sill right, illustration # 130

A 000 991 20 98 clip, door sill panels left and right, illustration # 150

A 000 990 54 92 expansion rivet, door sill panels left and right 6mm, illustration # 160

Color notes on panels states, prime coated. Best I can do with such small illustration in the part look-up.

Does NOT show parts anymore, just the initial splash page, and does not answer the query links. Their MB and Audi links work fine and go to catalogs.

Yah I figured they took it down becuase they didnt get as much business as Merc and audi

The clips are most important to have when taking off the skirts, paneling side sills, or what ever you want to call them. Clips are frequently broken in the removal process. If they are not replaced when re-installing the side sill panels, the sill panels will come off at the slightest provocation.
A full set of undamaged clips is of the highest priority. It is not a bad idea to have some spare clips if you are attempting sill panel installation the first time.
