Give your smart the woosh with this Blow Off Adaptor Plate by Bonalume!!

Ever wanted that turbo blow-off noise for your 453 smart? Wait no more!
Introducing the new blow-off plate by Bonalume.

This Blow Off Adaptor Plate is designed for installation in combination with the OEM diverter valve which will generate the "whoosh" or dumping noise.

It simply goes in between the stock diverter valve and the port for the diverter valve on the turbo.

Please let us know if you have any more questions!

Reminds me of the "blue plates" available for the SRT4/PT Turbo which essentially just vents the excess boost to atmosphere rather than recirculating when throttle plate snaps shut. They were very popular for the srt/pt crowd since they helped keep the excess boost from putting unneeded stress on the turbine wheel. Not sure on the 453 turbo/routing design, but used to see a little better response with that and hard pipes on them.

if you have one... video would be nice. :)
Hey there, we do actually have a video of the blowoff plate in the works so stay tuned for that! We've also sold a number of these the last few days so stay tuned for reviews :)

Really, and why/when did it become "famous?"
It definitely depends on the person, but there are a lot of people out there who like having that turbo blow-off noise on a turbo car.

We like to offer products for different vehicles and also for different types of customers.. If you're not a fan of the blow-off noise that's ok, we offer many other aftermarket parts for the smart ;)

I'm not familiar with the SRT4 platform, but based on what you are describing this is actually exactly like that! (If not similar). With this plate, it simply bypasses the entrance to the intake tract and thus' vents to atmosphere
