As a 24 year old male in north Georgia mountains- I take a lot of flake for driving Smarts - your gay, not safe, wtf- ETC

Chevy Avalanche ran red light, I had green turn arrow, I.... drive fast dash cam says 43mph when turning... Other guy 35-40mph BAM, car spun, bags deployed. I walk away bruse from seat belt- thigh and shoulder, pissed I lost my car, but IN YOUR FACE AMERICA, SMART WINS. People were stopping (in commerical area) to take pictures, amazed people were I was okay. The others went to er. bleeding and broken leg/femer

I am so sorry to see what happened to your Fortwo. It did it's best to keep you safe and you're living proof to how safe the Fortwo truly is. It looks like you had a really good looking car. Hopefully you can get another one and maybe even the 453. I can't imagine what you're going through. I would be super upset if mine ever got torn up in an accident. I've spent so many hours on projects to customize it, and it would take a long time to fix another one to be an exact clone of what I have. So hopefully you can get another one, and look on the bright side, when they rib you about driving your Fortwo you can tell them to stuff it ! Take care. DCO

My friend, it is a shame what happened to you and your beautiful toy. Thanks god you're alive and fine, material stuffs will be replaced. Unfortunately the people over here just think "The bigger, the safer" when that´s a total lie!!, here is when Mercedes-Benz engineering is demonstrated and how the vehicle absorbs the impacts in order to keep the occupants in the safest position. That's why I have a Mercedes Benz and a little Smart. Safety and innovation are everything for that big company.

I hope the occupants of that big and heavy chevy get recovered as well, but the difference between going to ER and not going to ER is too much LOL.

Be safe my friend, I hope you find another nice 451 or if you like the new 453! :)

Huzzah!!!! Another instance where smart = 1 and other car = 0!

It's amazing how safe these cars are. Hopefully you can get a new smartie that's just as unique as your last. :)

Looks like a hypothetical passenger in your smart might have been hurt in the foot/leg. Really glad it was that side that got hit, and that you are okay, (both you and the other driver, actually)...
After looking at various crashes over the years, you can see the cabrios do tend to twist, bend, and crumple more in crashes than the coupes do. That said, such deficiency is the nature of the convertible car in general. It should be expected that the convertible variant of any car is slightly less safe than the hardtop. That said, the cabrios are still a tough bunch! I mean darn, this one took on an Avalanche of a pickup truck! :D How many small convertibles can do that and not be a mangled mess?

What did the passenger side footwell look like from the inside. It looks like the tridion did it's job on keeping the damage outside of tridion but you got to see first hand what if any intrusion occurred.
I am glad you are OK and I have to complement you on your choice of colors on your smart. It looked great and did it's job.

Passenger foot well was FINE- crumple zone took hit. The inside was FINE. The WEIRDEST thing, was the keys and gear box. The metal that goes in ignition was in there but the entire plastic part flew off! There was no damage of disforming of the inside of the car- less the gear box. The Air Bag hit my Ray-Bans, cracked them- THANK GOT DID NOT SHATTER. I think the passenger COULD have changed the spin with added weight of person. Neonspinnazz I LOVE your passion and dedication :) I will defend this car to no end.
