How many smarts are going to Pikes Peak?
Not a problem unless you have a carburetor.Back when I was stationed in Denver you could always tell the cars from the flatlands going up into the mountains - all the way over in the slow lane, doing about 30 mph and smoking like crazy. Bring your tools!![]()
Black Forest is about 25 miles to the northeast of Pikes Peak. Let's hope the fire is not still burning a month from now.Yeah tell me about it! The really huge fire is at the base of Pikes Peak.
Just don't plan on visiting the Royal Gorge while you are in Colorado for the Nationals. There is a Forest Fire there as well. 48 of 52 buildings burned, the Incline Railway burned and some of the planks on the bridge were damaged. They say the will rebuild and reopen. I don't think that will happen this summer but who knows. It is 65% contained. Burned 3200 acres.Black Forest is about 25 miles to the northeast of Pikes Peak.
