"A very interesting night on Saturday. The Anglo-Dutch team had blown out the country dancing in favour of a midnight beer picnic. Over time, French and Swiss turned up including a guy who works for smart. A lot of beer = a lot of chat and I found out a LOT about the new fortwo."
I have a little more information on the engine/transmission. It's actually a modified LSA engine from gm putting out 552 hp and mated to a tremec 6060 6 speed. Please keep this information private.
For North America they'll likely lose the turbo, lower the CR even more and put a 60 MPH speed limiter on it, all the while still requiring premium fuel!
"Automated manual gearbox and hill start assist much like the old smart gearboxes, however, this one is a dual clutch setup. There is a very good chance that this will be an option in the 453. 6 speed Renault DSG or a 7 speed Getrag automated manual.
That picture is astounding. Please tell me that's a real prototype!!! That really, really looks good. I'm perfectly fine with the ForFour looking like that. Love it! Now I just want to see the front!
