Hi, I've only had my Smart for a few weeks now and it's time to start checking things out. I put it up on my hoist to put a trailer hitch on it and got a better look at the under side. I've built a few vehicles from scratch and suspension and steering have always been a very interesting subject to me. I immediately figured out why these little cars are so effected by the wind. They front has almost no caster. The spindle angle is almost vertical. This makes the car drive and steer very easy at low speeds, but makes it too touchy at high speeds. I'm half tempted to re engineer the entire front end to my liking. The rear is just plain strange also. I don't see why there are 2 panhard bars that fight each other when the suspension goes up and down. I still love driving the little guy, but see 2 major engineering flaws. Strange... Jeff
