Can you even ship airbags?

Maybe like 2 years back I deleted the airbags on my Subaru and took them to the local pickapart to dispose of them. They didn't want them. I guess it posed a risk among the other 10k airbags they have there. I ended up driving by and tossing them over the fence. None of them blew up though
