It's -5C here (23F) and my car sounds like an old box spring mattress.

Every speedbump and some road bumps cause a very loud squeak. I'm guessing it's the bushings but the car is TWO years old! Seems like it isn't too durable.

I'm going to take it to the dealer but knowing mine they'll make something up!

Thanks for any input.

It seems pretty normal. Both of my smarts do it below freezing temps (32F), the 451 has done it since 30k or so.

Thanks for the reply, I'm gonna go see if the dealer will change out the part for me. Hopefully it isn't a "wear item" or some other bs!

Strangely enough the car2go cars here don't do it (despite being older) but I usually drive above freezeing

I wonder if it really is a problem though? The "it's normal" explanation came from my dealer(s). IMO, it's worth a dealer visit anyway.

My guess is three items.

1:The Strut bushings are hardened from the extreme cold.

2: If the Smart Shocks are Oil vs Gas Charged then the cold oil changes the operation and ride Quality until warmed up.

3: There is a lot of Plastic on this car, It does not flex well in cold temps.
